Star Wars Announcement on May 4

Because everyone visits StarWars.com on daily (if not hourly) basis, I’m sure the whole world is fully aware of the special announcement regarding Star Wars on May 4th. Those who do not know of the of the news, you get a pass today because of the reports of the death of Osama bin Laden (We all know Jack Bauer was involved). According to the web site, “all will be revealed” on International Star Wars day (May 4). LucasFilm will most likely reveal the details of the extras on the Blu-ray releases of Star Wars: The Complete Saga. We do know some of the extras include alternate and deleted scenes, including one of Luke constructing a new lightsaber before entering Jabba the Hutt’s Palace in Return of the Jedi. But why make a big deal out regarding the Blu-ray details? Will George Lucas do the right thing in giving fans the original trilogy untouched? Does Han shoot first? Will he do the same as his longtime friend, Steven Spielberg, and replace blasters with walkie-talkies? We could only meditate on the situation and pray that he gives us the unaltered classic films. You can watch the countdown on a special site. The clock strikes at 6 a.m. PST on Wednesday, so be sure to check it out. And for those wondering, why May 4? I will respond with this: May the fourth be with you…get it?!
