Oscar’s Top 15 Scary Movies

As manly as I appear (let me think it, people), I have a number of irrational fears. I can thank horror films for developing my coulrophobia, thalassophobia, ornithophobia (look them up) and fear of supernatural entities. Here’s a list of films that scared the hell out of me (and continue to do so).

The first official trailer to Marvel’s Iron Man 3 has finally arrived via Apple iTunes movie trailers and yes…it is very sexy. Enjoy.

‘Argo’ Review

Believe it or not, it has been 14 years since Ben Affleck shared the stage with Matt Damon to receive an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting. The writer and actor went through a dark period that included Daredevil, Reindeer Games and Gigli, but Affleck has now found solace in the [...]

‘Dredd’ Review

After the debacle that was 1995’s Judge Dredd, who in their right mind would want to revisit the character and give the judge another film? DNA Films made the gamble on developing a worthy adaptation of Britain’s most iconic comic character, and it sure as hell paid off. Dredd is a grandiloquent film with plenty [...]

‘End of Watch’ Review

The modern action cop drama has a seat right next to horror and westerns in Hollywood’s shelf of everlasting genres lacking originality. Films about the men in blue protecting the mean streets is a tried and tired story that fails possess the smarts of The French Connection or the honest will of Serpico, but screenwriter [...]

‘The Master’ Review

Much like the belief system in the film (which may or may not have been loosely based on Scientology), The Master is not for everyone. Actually, it’s not for a general audience, but then again, which Paul Thomas Anderson movie is? The talented writer/director’s latest effort may not be as refined but just as effective [...]

Most Anticipated Movies this Fall

After nine months of films featuring a team of earth-saving superheroes, a man bare-knuckle boxing with a wolf, teens killing other teens, and a muffled masked man breaking backs, it’s time to settle down because (cue Martin Lawrence voice) shit is about to get real. Summer blockbusters have come and gone, but now come the [...]

Second ‘Hobbit’ Trailer!

The second trailer to the highly-anticipated The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey has finally arrived nine months after the first was released online. Director Peter Jackson returns to Middle Earth to kick off a new trilogy centered around Bilbo Baggins’ adventures. I must admit I had my doubts about Jackson being able to replicate the beauty [...]

‘Avengers’ Deleted Scene

I’m sure it’s safe to assume whole world has already seen The Avengers, which means a SPOILER ALERT is pointless. And if you have not seen the highest grossing film of the year, then you missed out on one of the most enjoyable comic book movies of all time (and you’re lame). In anticipation of [...]

Daredevil to Return to Marvel and Disney

After much speculation regarding the film rights to Daredevil, Joe Carnahan all but confirmed the demise of his yet-to-be-produced reboot via Twitter. The director tweeted to 6,000 fans: Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids. Deadline and Variety reported that 20th Century Fox’s request for an [...]

To promote the Indiana Jones films on the high definition format, Paramount will re-release Raiders of the Lost Ark in IMAX theaters in September, according to Screen Crush. While converting the films to Blu-Ray, Steven Spielberg also formatted [...]

New ‘Skyfall’ Trailer Hits the Web

The first teaser trailer to Skyfall was released months ago excited James Bond fans, but also raised many questions. What the hell is Skyfall, and why is Daniel Craig carrying a gun at what looks like some sort of psychedelic rave? All is finally answered in the newly released trailer featuring the dapper MI6 agent. [...]
